Wheelchairs
SELF PROPELLED
Our range of self propelled wheelchairs
is for those persons who need a wheelchair and are
able to drive and steer it themselves.
The chairs are equipped with large rear
wheels, and have hand rims to enable the user to propel
the wheels with little effort.
The smaller front wheels, or castors,
allow for easier manoeuvrability.
Self propelling wheelchairs also offer
a wide range of options to the user, from lightweight
fold-up models to heavy-duty more rugged models.
With the introduction of even more lightweight
materials, there is an increasing demand for these
particular models to be used in sporting activities
such as basket ball and even rugby – ask us
for further details!
ATTENDANT
We provide attendant wheelchairs for
those persons unable to propel themselves.
These chairs are fitted with small rear wheels and can
be folded to enable easier storage and also transportation
in the back of most cars.
For the benefit of user and attendant
the chairs are designed with comfortable arm and footrests
and easily accessible pushing handles and brakes.
LIGHTWEIGHT
We also offer a most interesting range
of super lightweight wheelchairs, weighing only approx
9kg(20lbs) and constructed in materials including
aluminium alloy, carbon fibre and titanium.
Once again safety is of paramount importance
and these super lightweight wheelchairs are no exception.
They are built for toughness and provide rigidity
for rock-solid handling. Indeed
many of these chairs are now being used
in sports activities.
When folded these chairs are readily
transportable and some are supplied complete with
carrying bag – that really is convenient.
We have models in stock so why not have
a free demonstration and see for yourself just how
far we have progressed with wheelchairs.
ELECTRICALLY POWERED
Those chairs operate on battery
power and are controlled by a simple small joystick
located near the armrest, which side armrest is determined
by the user. Power chairs provide excellent mobility
for persons who find it difficult to use a manual
wheelchair
